MARA offers two main scholarship programmes: the Tertiary Education Sponsorship Programme (TESP) for diploma and degree-level studies, and the Young Talent Development Programme (YTP) for high-performing Bumiputera students going to top international universities. Both are open exclusively to Bumiputera applicants. Applications for TESP are submitted through the MARA online portal. For YTP, the process is more selective and includes a separate registration window. Key eligibility points: Malaysian citizen and Bumiputera status, academic results above MARA's minimum threshold (varies by programme), and active co-curriculum involvement. For TESP local study, CGPA 3.0 minimum is standard. For YTP and overseas study tracks, results must be well above that. MARA also requires proof of family income — priority is given to B40 and lower M40 households. After academic screening, shortlisted candidates attend a panel interview conducted in Bahasa Malaysia. MyScholar lists both MARA scholarship programs with open/closed status.
